RAINMEN SWEEP KEBS WITH 112-87 VICTORY BACK HOME
jan10-10-final-300The Halifax Rainmen fended off a pesky Quebec Kebs team Sunday, pulling away late in the third quarter for a 112-87 win at the Metro Centre.

Rainmen guard Adris DeLeon led all Rainmen scorers with 23 points, while Tony Bennett had 15 points. Desmond Ferguson also added 14 points, as the hometown team piled up 37 points in the final quarter. Jeremy Bell led the visiting Kebs with 21 points.

Sunday’s win gave the Rainmen a home-and-home sweep over the Kebs and improved the Rainmen’s early season record to 2-1.
The game, for the most part, was closer than the final score indicated. The Kebs battled the Rainmen hard for most of three quarters, actually taking the lead once, 63-61, midway through the third quarter, before the Rainmen gathered their momentum.

The Rainmen play their next game at home Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Metro Centre when they take on New England rival, the Vermont Frost Heaves.
